Barrow County police blotter

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

THEFT: On Sept. 15, a deputy was dispatched to Northeast Sales Distributing on Ronald Wood Road, where a manager advised that a truck driver may be taking cash from a customer, who pays only in cash for his beer. They asked that investigations look into the matter.

ARSON: On Sept. 15, a deputy was dispatched to a home on Mitchell Drive, Winder, where a vehicle was burning in the driveway. The owner of the vehicle said she had just returned from the store. An arson investigator was called to the scene because it appeared suspicious.

BURGLARY: On Sept. 15, a deputy was dispatched to Harco Tool on Atlanta Highway, Winder, where burglars had forced their way inside and stole more than $12,800 worth of equipment, including 12 Stihl chain saws along a variety of Stihl brand edgers and back pack blowers. Investigators are trying to identify two men seen on video wearing masks and gloves.

THEFT: On Sept. 14, a deputy was dispatched to Dee Kennedy Road, where a woman said she was recently the victim of identity fraud. The woman discovered she is not receiving her orders for a product she sells. She checked with the U.S. Post Office and found that a mail carrier stopped at her home on the day of delivery, but the products, which include herbal pills, are being stolen.

BURGLARY: On Sept. 11, a deputy was dispatched to David Avenue, where a man said he was working on a house and arrived today to find someone had entered the house and stole two bathroom vanities, valued at $250 each.

GUN STOLEN: On Sept. 11, a deputy was dispatched to Creek Stone Drive, where a man reported someone entered his home and stole a 9mm handgun from his bedroom dresser.

PICKUP STOLEN: On Sept. 13, a resident of West Sycamore Drive reported someone stole his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado parked at his home. The man said he planned to sell the truck, valued at $10,000.

BURGLARY: On Sept. 12, a deputy was dispatched about 4 p.m. to Ceebtsheej Baptist Church on Watson Road, Winder, to investigate a burglary. Someone had entered the church by breaking a window. A Roland brand electric keyboard, valued at $2,000, was stolen. Damage was estimated at $500. The deputy found a rock used to break the window.
