The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
GUN THEFTS: On Aug. 28, Lt. Paul Maxey was dispatched to meet with a resident of Osborne Road, Statham, who said someone entered two vehicles at his home and stole a Springfield .45-caliber pistol and a .38-caliber pistol, all valued at $500.
GUN THEFT: On Aug. 28, Lt. Paul Maxey met with a man on Hebron Church Road, Statham, who reported someone entered his truck, barn and yard and stole $1,145 worth of property including a .38-caliber pistol, a chain saw and two drills.
THEFT: On Aug. 28, a deputy was dispatched to Three Sixteen Business Park off Georgia Highway 316, where a backpack leaf blower, valued at $500, was stolen.
EAVESDROPPING: On Aug. 28, a Bogart man and woman reported that another couple had invaded their privacy by eavesdropping on their private conversations by accessing their private emails.
GUITAR MISSING: On Aug. 29, a resident of Summit Circle, Watkinsville, reported the theft of an Ibanez acoustic guitar valued at $300 and some plastic figurines of Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy.
DAMAGE: On Aug. 29, a 42-year-old man reported that a co-worker is harassing him and making intimidating gestures towards him at a location on Settlers Ridge. The man said his he also found where someone had keyed his car.
GUN THEFT: On Aug. 28, a resident of Hebron Church Road reported someone entered his vehicle and stole a Glock .40-caliber handgun valued at $500.
BURGLARY: On Aug. 29, a resident of Osborne Road, Statham, reported someone entered his storage building and stole a chain saw, grass trimmer, fishing poles and a gas can, all valued at $635.
SHOPLIFTING: On Aug. 31, a deputy was dispatched to Walmart, where two Athens men tried to leave without paying for some cheese sticks and pop corn. Joseph D. Bunton, 19, of Springs Valley Road, and Franklin L. Goss Jr., 18, of Park Ridge Drive, were charged with shoplifting.
SHOPLIFTING: On Aug. 31, a loss prevention officer at Kohl’s on Epps Bridge Parkway detained a person for trying to leave with $62 in merchandise, including Nike shorts and earrings. William Cory Jones, 26, of Veribest Road, Lexington, was charged with shoplifting.
DOG THEFT: On Aug. 31, Deputy Andy Corbin met with a 27-year-old resident of Monroe Highway, Bogart, who reported the theft of a pit bulldog puppy valued at $100. A possible suspect was identified as a woman, who lives in the neighborhood.
THEFT: On Aug. 31, a 44-year-old woman reported the theft of a “Welcome to Oconee County” sign, valued at $900, that was installed on Georgia Highway 316 near the McNutt Creek Road intersection.
THEFT: On Aug. 31, a loss prevention officer at Walmart detained a woman for trying to leaving with razors valued at $27. Olivia C. Bos, 19, of Midland Park, N.J., was charged with shoplifting.
